For me it was one of my favourite shows as a child and was how i always pictured the future to be..

Lots of buildings high up in the sky on poles with flying cars to get around..

I definitly would like to in-corperate an elements of this into my design.KennyEnglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11981892354797951140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-699434546349222991.post-4551383022883225042009-11-19T08:53:00.000-08:002009-11-29T19:16:23.726-08:00Back to the FutureBack to the future is one of the classic futuristic movies.. after looking at the style of car i thought about the delorean as being a posibility for a method of travel

this is based more on an altered car as oppose to a distinct new method of transport..

Something else I remember about is the cafe..

To look back at it, it doesnt look particulally futuristic.. whether that was their original intention or lack of budget i'm not too sure.. the most futuristic part was the scene where Marty orders a Pepsi

The bottle has a really organic feel to it..

A mixute of bright colours, lights and smooth finishes seem to be correlating for the idea of a futuristic cityKennyEnglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11981892354797951140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-699434546349222991.post-2433675994868731512009-11-18T09:10:00.000-08:002009-11-29T19:16:41.932-08:00Minority ReportA more rescent film to look to the future is Minority report.. If i'm honest its not quite what I imagined to be making.. The website feels rather flat and the links are a tad un-inventive..

However, it is very informative and works well.. I definitly will be looking for a interactive and interesting looking interfaceKennyEnglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11981892354797951140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-699434546349222991.post-61073791738245027282009-11-16T09:25:00.000-08:002009-11-29T19:17:07.959-08:00Virtual Architecture ProjectThis was slightly closer to what I had in mind.. (website)

The image to the right is a handrawn sketch of a map.. this gives you a better idea of where you are visiting as it makes it easier to select your location.. The interactive 360 rotating image is also amazing..

I think the rotating image is slightly out of our current depth but I like that this feel a tad more hands onKennyEnglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11981892354797951140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-699434546349222991.post-22383735192940504832009-11-15T09:28:00.000-08:002009-11-29T19:17:17.674-08:00My thoughts on the FutureNoone can say for definiate what the future will look like, so its all down to your own individual perceptions on what the future might entail.

With the apparent melting of the polar ice-caps I would believe that parts of the Jetsons idea would be part of the future. With the increase in water level.. decrease of land mass.. and continous increase in population, i'd believe it would be perfectly reasonable to move buildings into the air..

Another point i've noticed is the need for us as humans to idiot proof EVERYTHING.. something I noticed only the otherday was a bad of salted nuts that had the warning "May contain nuts".. In my future, should we stay on course, I can picture buildings that represent exactly what they contain.. so a burger shop would resemble a burger.. and chip shop looking like a pack of chips.. an coffee shop like a coffee mug.. etc and so forth..

This has led me to remember a game i used to play as a child......KennyEnglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11981892354797951140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-699434546349222991.post-1823431247365231352009-11-14T09:41:00.000-08:002009-11-29T19:17:29.023-08:00Rollercoaster TycoonA game I remember playing alot when I was younger was RollerCoaster Tycoon.. what stuck out in my mind was the buildings that you built for the burger stand.. drinks..

candyfloss..

This is pretty much what i had in mind when i thought of a futuristic buildings..KennyEnglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11981892354797951140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-699434546349222991.post-50208973127480955132009-11-13T09:51:00.000-08:002009-11-29T19:17:38.162-08:00Burgerstand SketchHere is a rough sketch of what i had in mind..

KennyEnglandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11981892354797951140noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-699434546349222991.post-75225498792719242072009-11-12T09:52:00.000-08:002009-11-29T19:17:48.064-08:00Photoshopped McDonaldsHere is a photoshopped render of a Burger building for McDonalds expanding on my Sketch

Im really happy with this finished image.. its what I had in mind for my overall city.. BillboardSomething we learned in lesson today was video.. i thought this could be nice to integrate into into my final piece.. to do this waht i done was create the background as a .png with a cut out window.. this is so the video can sit in behind the background so it looks like its sitting in the screen.. also i added a Glow effect to darken the edges..

<object
